Executive Director, Sam Albert, BS, CRS, CIP, CFRS
Sam Albert is a lifelong resident of Berks County having been born and raised in the Reading area. He graduated from Muhlenberg High School and then from Widener University. After a long and successful career in the food and outdoor concession business, Sam switched his passion to helping others recover from substance use disorders. Sam has over 20 years in recovery and continues to be in service in many ways to the recovery community. He believes in the unparalleled value of one addict helping another. Sam is credentialed by the Pennsylvania Certification Board as a Certified Recovery Specialist, a Certified Intervention Professional, and a Certified Family Recovery Specialist. He also has his degree in Clinical Psychology and has obtained over 30 certificates from various trainings approved by the PCB and the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs. Sam has written and implemented various programs that have proven to be very effective tools in the fight against substance use disorders.
Sam is dedicated to helping the family of the individual beginning their journey in recovery. He believes the family has long been overlooked as an integral part of a person’s recovery program. The family needs as much help, and sometimes more, then the individual in dealing with this newfound way of life. He helps the entire family understand and how to deal with addiction. It is in this way that Sam can provide a complete continuum of care for both the individual and their family.
